PURPLE STORM geht im Kern auf die California Jam 74 Tribute Initiative vom Frühjahr 2021 zurück.
Weltweit hatten Virus und Lauterbach dazu geführt, dass Bands auseinander gingen – für viele Musiker und Fans eine harte Zäsur – und Startschuß für einen Neubeginn und die Chance, einen alten Traum wahrzumachen.
Im Herbst 2021 trafen sich fünf Musiker, die zuvor in anderen Rock-Formationen auch Stücke von Deep Purple und Rainbow gespielt hatten zu einem Deep Purple/Rainbow Projekt. So konnten schon 2022 und dann auch 2023 und 2024 in renommierten Venues kultige Auftritte absolviert werden.
PURPLE STORM is based on the California Jam 74 Tribute Initiative from spring 2021.
The virus and Lauterbach had led to bands breaking up around the world – a tough break for many musicians and fans – and the starting signal for a new beginning and the chance to make an old dream come true.
In the fall of 2021, five musicians who had previously played Deep Purple and Rainbow songs in other rock formations came together to form a Deep Purple/Rainbow project. This enabled them to play iconic gigs in renowned venues from as early as 2022.

Gemeinsam mit einem begeisterten Publikum zelebriert PURPLE STORM die Musik von Deep Purple in angesagten Clubs, auf Festivals und auf den Stadtfesten.
